Why We Can't See the End of the Universe?
I'm sure you've all thought about this at least once.
- How big is our universe?
- Where is the end of the universe?
- Can we go to the end of the universe?
- What is at the end of the universe?
Aren't you curious about these stories?Unfortunately, however,it is impossible to
observe or visit the end of the universe, even if human technology has advanced
tremendously. Why can't we go and see the end of the universe?
There was nothing in this early world. There was no time, no space, no matter.
Of course there were no galaxies, no stars. But at some point, the Big Bang, which
starts at one point, happens.Starting with this big bang, everything in the universe
began.Time began to pass, space formed, matter like galaxies and stars and atoms.
What's really interesting is that before the Big Bang, the universe was condensed to
a really small size, which was smaller than the electrons, and at the same time
as the Big Bang began to expand as the anti-gravity of the universe was applied.
But the rate of expansion of this universe is really beyond imagination.
After the Big Bang, the expansion rate of the universe was faster than light.
Now, you may have noticed something strange here.According to Einstein's theory
of relativity, there is nothing faster than light in the world,so how can the universe
expand faster than light? Is the theory of relativity wrong or is the theory of the Big
Bang weird? It's kind of ironic. But what's interesting is that the universe, which
expands at a faster rate than light, and the theory of relativity that no matter can be
faster than light, are both correct.Because in the case of an expanding universe,it's
not a particular substance that moves, it's space itself. So even if space itself
expands faster than light,it doesn't go against the theory of relativity. It's really
fascinating.
So what will happen to the universe in the future if it continues to expand?
If there's no such event in the universe that can significantly stop the expansion of
the universe, 150 billion years from now,the stars in the night sky will be much
smaller than they are now. According to the researchers,99.99 percent of galaxies
around the Milky Way will be out of observable range. What this means is that in the
future, the stars will not be visible. They're moving away so fast that they're moving
away from outer space faster rate than light, that their light doesn't reach the
Earth.of course just because galaxies move away doesn't mean that galaxies
disappear, but anyway, the light emitted from galaxies doesn't reach Earth,so from
the perspective of humans on Earth,it's going to feel like other galaxies are
disappearing. At this point there are about 100 billion galaxies that can be
observed. But in 150 billion years, this number will only shrink to thousands.
What will happen if more time passes?
Only 36 galaxies will we be able to observe.Except for these 36 galaxies,
all the other galaxies and stars will seem to disappear altogether. After a long time,
the night sky full of shining stars and galaxies becomes dark.If there were
astronomers on Earth at this time, and hundreds of billions of years later,
they would probably think that. The universe does not expand because locally
clustered galaxies do not move away from each other. Our universe consists of 36
galaxies. The universe remains static.Scientists will believe this.
So why don't 36 galaxies disappear?
Gravity between locally clustered galaxies is strong enough to overcome
the expansion of the universe,so it doesn't disappear from view.
The universe created by the Big Bang is expanding at a much faster rate than light.
This expansion rate is getting faster and faster,
and the farther the galaxy is, the faster the distance between galaxies is.
With this in mind,we're going to fly to the end of space in a spaceship that can fly
99.99% of the speed of light. But we can never reach the end of the universe. This is
because space expands faster than spacecraft flying at the speed of light. There's no
way to ignore this because it's a kind of physical law that works in the natural
world. So we can't observe the light coming from the end of the universe, and on the
contrary, even if we go at the speed of light,we can't reach the end of the
universe.Space expands at a faster rate than light.Because of this physical
constraint, the scientific community made a sphere with a radius based on the
Earth. And this range is called the observable universe.
Now, one thing I'm curious about here.
So, how big is the universe that can be observed?
Scientists used the Wmap satellite to capture
exactly what the universe looked like 380,000 years after the creation of the Big
Bang, and based on this, humans figured out that the universe was about 13.8 billion
years old.We checked 380,000 years after the Big Bang, and we checked the age of
the universe,so the observable radius of the universe is 13.8 billion years, which is
intuitively true, but we left out one important fact. The light that's reaching Earth
now is 13.8 billion years old.But the universe has been expanding all of its life since its birth 13.8 billion years ago.
Therefore, the source of light has fallen to 46.5 billion light years,
far from the beginning. Therefore, it has been concluded
that the size of the universe currently observable is a spherical shape
with a radius of about 46.5 billion light-years around the Earth. Now it's the last
question. If the observable universe is determined based on the Earth,
what is outside the observable universe?
Is there any way to observe or visit the universe?
It's a shame, but we humans can never go against the laws of natureso even if the
moment of the end of the universe comes,we can't go to the end of the universe
and we don't know what's there. So scientists say they never know what's out there
outside the unobservable universe and how far the universe will stretch, and they
have no choice but to leave it to their imagination.
Some scientists say,If we compare the observable universe to the size of an
atom, the entire universe would be as large as the actual observable universe.
Some scientists say,The observable universe is the end of human perception, so that's the end of the universe.
Some scientists say,Beyond the observable universe, the universe will extend
indefinitely.Well, there's no right answer. The universe is not as big as you think,so it
might reach the end of the universe soon. But what's interesting is that we can
imagine a lot of fun things because it's an area that humans can never find out.Or
maybe one day, technology will be more advanced and we'll figure out where the end of the universe is.
i hope you like this amazing info
Thank you
